Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple—reach out through the contact form or email, and we’ll schedule an initial consultation or first session. From there, we’ll talk through what you’re looking for and determine whether it feels like a good fit.

What if I’m not sure I’m ready for therapy?

It’s completely normal to feel unsure. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Many people begin therapy feeling uncertain, and we can take things at your pace. Reaching out for an initial conversation can be a helpful first step.

Telehealth Therapy

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your goals for therapy, and any relevant history. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how I work. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—we’ll take it one step at a time.

Will family be involved in treatment?

When helpful and with your input, treatment may include involving family members or other supportive individuals in your life. This is always discussed collaboratively and depends on your preferences, goals, and stage of treatment.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, my practice is fully virtual at this time. I offer secure telehealth sessions, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your own space.

What does virtual eating disorder treatment look like?

Since 2020, I have been providing specialized treatment for individuals with eating disorders in virtual settings. For the most part, our work looks the same as it would in the office. Treatment will still be tailored to your needs and include structured, evidence-based approaches and skill-building exercises. In addition to our individual sessions, I will collaborate with you to feel empowered throughout your treatment. I emphasize coordinating care with other treatment providers (with your permission) to ensure your physical safety and monitoring. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where change feels manageable and your voice is heard.

How often will we meet?

All sessions are 45 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency can vary depending on your needs and goals. We’ll discuss what makes the most sense for you and adjust as needed over time.

Fees & Policies

Do you accept insurance?

II accept Aetna insurance plans through Alma. For all other policies, I am considered private pay or Out-Of-Network. I can provide documentation (a superbill) for you to submit for potential reimbursement or to count towards your Out-of-Network deductible with your insurance provider. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about fees or coverage.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed sessions, are subject to the full session fee. This policy helps ensure that time is reserved thoughtfully and respectfully—for both my schedule and for other clients who may be waiting for an available appointment. Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for missed or late-canceled sessions.
